يهدف نظام حماية المنافسة إلى حماية وتشجيع المنافسة العادلة, ومكافحة الممارسات الاحتكارية التي تؤثر على المنافسة المشروعة. ويحظر النظام الممارسات أو الاتفاقيات أو العقود بين المنشآت المتنافسة كان الهدف منها تقييد التجارة أو الإخلال بالمنافسة بين المنشآت ومنها التأثير في السعر الطبيعي لعروض بيع السلع أو الخدمات أو شرائها أو توريدها سواء في المنافسات أو المزايدات الحكومية أو غير الحكومية.
